The council’s cabinet will now discuss progress on plans to deliver a modern, functional and sympathetic facility for families’ needs at its meeting today (July 14).

The report also recommends working alongside the wider bereavement services sector while investigating options to deliver a greener facility utilising the latest new technologies.

The new facility could take nine months to design and open in spring 2022.
