Newark Air Museum and RAF Balderton Research Group remember aerodromes' fallen




Newark Air Museum’s annual Remembrance service took place at the RAF Winthorpe Memorial at 3pm on Sunday and a wreath was laid at the former RAF Balderton.

The service commemorates all the service personnel who are remembered on the various memorials and tributes around the museum site.

The service was led by the Rev Alan Boyd, with various local service organisations in attendance along with civic dignitaries.

There was a parade and visitors and museum members were welcome to attend.

The Last Post and Reveille were sounded by Roger Bryan of Newark Town Band either side of the silence and wreaths were laid.

A TWO minute silence was held at the RAF Balderton memorial site at 11am on Sunday and a new wreath laid in memory of those connected to the wartime airfield who never came home.
