The Scout and Guiding movement played a huge part in today's Remembrance at Balderton.

The village's parade was led by the the 1st Balderton Scout and Guide Band and several cub, brownie and rainbow packs took part.

In addition to the standards of the Balderton branch of the RBL, standards were lowered by youngsters Luke Robb, 10, Joshua Miller, 9, Will White, 12, who was wearing replicas of his grandfather and great-granddad's medals, and Rhoda Roberts, 15.

The Last Post and Reveille were played by Freya Sellers, 14, and Alysha Smith, 14, from the band.

The parade set off from Mount Road for St Giles' Church for a service. After that, it reformed and and marched to the war memorial outside the methodist church where the standards were lowered, prayers said and two-minute's silence observed.

The parade then reformed and marched back to Mount Road where it was disbanded.
