The hospice, which relies on outside donations, has shared details of some of the amazing fundraising activities in recent months and the amounts raised.

They include the Easter Fun Day and Chicken Run held in April which raised over £4,000, the Moving Mountains stair climb challenge which took place during March and raised over £1,500, an Easter Bag pack at M&S in Newark which raised £733.12, the Spring raffle which raised £7,698.20, the Scarecrow trail at Morton which took place in April and raised £406.37 for the charity, and Southwell Rugby Club’s 100 mile bike ride fundraising which currently stands at over £1,600 with donations still coming in.

A number of individuals have also held their own personal fundriasers for Beaumond House.

John O'Malley, during his year as men's captain as Norwood Park Golf Centre, raised £7,865, and Tracy Ferguson from SIT, get FIT, get Healthy with Tracy Ferguson and her members took part in a seated exercise class at a fundraising event at Newark Golf Club and raised £3,000.

Les Reid’s afternoon of music and beard shave, which took place at his home in April, raised over £2,000 for the charity, which supported his late wife.

Beaumond House chief executive Louise Sinclair said: “Members of our wonderful community have done 2.5k chicken runs, marathon bag packing sessions and virtual mountain climbs to help raise money for our important work, and we just wanted to say a big thank you to them all. Their generosity is amazing and we really couldn’t do what we do without their support.”

Beaumond House is a registered charity and relies on outside donations, takings from its shops, and the support of businesses for the bulk of the £1.6m in annual funding it needs to support its important work with patients and their families.

Last year, the hospice delivered a total of 2,161 day therapy days supporting 167 different patients, 1,204 nights of in-patient care supporting 87 patients and 4,500 hours of Hospice at Home services.

Louise also thanked the many businesses that had supported their efforts, including Norwood Park Golf Centre and the new M&S.

She added: “A huge thank you to M&S for allowing us to do the Easter Bag packing again and a huge thank you to their customers who were so very generous with their donations and their comments about Beaumond House.”
