Search for owner of pony
An appeal has been made to find the owner of a young pony found running loose in a village.
It had been seen in Hawton on Thursday, October 26 and was still in the village the following day when it was taken in by Mr Tom Pykett, who runs a haulage transport firm.
He already had two horses at his paddock and felt that he could not leave the pony unattended.
However, despite calls to local farms and the circulation of a photograph, no one has come forward to reclaim the pony.
Mr Pykett, who is also a parish councillor, said: “Rather than leave the pony out on the road, we took it in.
“It’s a young pony so you would think that someone would want it back.
“I am not sure what to make of it.”
Anyone with information should call Mr Pykett on 01636 703520.
