Pirate themed family fun day at Newark's National Civil War Museum





A Newark museum is hosting a pirate themed, family activity day as part of their monthly Family Saturday events.

The National Civil War Centre's Family Saturday: Ships Ahoy! event runs from 10am to 5pm, tomorrow (August 6).

Activities to enjoy on the day include; making your own ship in a bottle, going on a family-friendly tour led by a swashbuckler, and handling some amazing seaside-themed objects.

Visitors that live in Newark and Sherwood or come dressed as a Pirate, whatever your age, gain free entry.

From 3pm to 5pm, quiet hour sessions will take place, helping children and young people with autism or additional requirements to enjoy the museum.

Those looking to extend their seaside family experience can also visit the Newark-on-Sea beach which open is set the market place tomorrow.
