A tea party at a Newark dental practice raised about £170 for the charity Marie Curie Cancer Care on Friday.

The Blooming Great Tea Party event, held at Appletongate Dental Practice, featured teas, coffees and cakes.

A receptionist, Miss Jean Robinson, said the event proved to be really popular and they were pleased with the amount raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The money helps to provide free Marie Curie nursing care in their own home for people with terminal illnesses.
