Staff from Newark School, Newark, complete Lyke Wake Walk across Yorkshire Moors

A team of staff from Newark Orchard School completed the Lyke Wake Walk, a 40-mile hike across the Yorkshire Moors from Osmotherley to Ravenscar.

In doing so, the team reached their target of £2,000 to build a bespoke outdoor learning space for the pupils.

They are still hoping for more donations so work can commence as soon as possible.

The team set off at 9pm on Friday, June 17, and completed the work in just over 18 hours.

Two staff members and the school mini-bus formed the support team, providing the walkers with hot drinks, cakes and bacon butties throughout the day and the night.
