A toddler group that has been running for a year has taken on new starters.

Toddle In is a parent and toddler group that runs at the Alive Church in Newark on Tuesday mornings.

It features crafts, singing, dancing and games during a two-hour sessions for under-fives.

Pastor Joss Nicholas said: “It has been going for a little while now and is just getting busier.

“It is run by the parents, who are volunteers.

“There are always refreshments for the children, and tea, coffee and cakes for the parents as well.”

'It is a good place to meet people'

Mr Nicholas said parents did not need to be a member of the church to attend the toddler group.

“The majority of parents aren’t members and it is open to everyone,” he said.

“The parents always say it’s the friendliest group out there and that comes from the ethos of the church.

“It is fun. It is a good place to meet people, make friends and get support.

“There is a lot of support that comes from having friends at the same stage of life as you.

“There are good relationships and friendships that come out of it.”

The Alive Church is based at Newark Baptist Church, Portland Street.

The Tuesday Toddle In session is from 9.30am to 11am.
