Organisers of Newark Antiques Market confirm date for the first market at Newark Showground after lockdown
Organisers of Newark Antiques Market have confirmed the date for the first market after lockdown.
The market — the largest antiques fair in the UK — will be held at Newark Showground on April 15 and 16, a week later than scheduled.
Organisers iacf said: “The safety of our stallholders and visitors is our absolute top priority and we continue to include comprehensive measures at all our venues to help ensure the safety of all.
“Our staff are trained to ensure visitors and stallholders are kept socially distanced, we have worked with Newark and Nottinghamshire Showground to ensure that there are plenty of hand sanitiser stations available and last year’s introduction of contactless card payments.”
Newark Antiques Market is held on an enormous 84-acre site, allowing up to 2,500 stallholders to exhibit their products and meet new customers.
Thousands of people attend the fair, travelling from across the country.
Will Thomas, iacf managing director, said: “iacf are looking forward to having Newark Antiques Market back up and running, with the safety of our stallholders, visitors and members of staff being our top priority.
“The UK’s biggest and best antiques market will be the first antiques market back after lockdown, offering customers everything from rare collectible pieces to high quality antique furniture, helping support the environment, small businesses and the antiques industry.
“We’ve had a tremendous amount of stall bookings for the first antiques market back of 2021. We know our stallholders are as eager to get back selling at iacf antiques markets as we are to have them back with us.”
The date of Newark Antiques Market was moved to fall into government guidelines and to help ensure that all visitors and dealers feel safe while trading and shopping.
