Residents have joined a day of action in the Yorke Drive and Winthorpe Road areas of Newark.

It was part of Newark and Sherwood District Council’s Cleaner, Greener And Safer campaign.

Throughout the day, residents joined council staff in litter-picks and weeding at various locations in the two locations.

They included the area around Hatchett’s Lane underpass, Yorke Drive and Lincoln Road playing fields, and the Winthorpe Road underpass.

Fly-tipping and fly-posting were also tackled as part of the day of action, and residents could raise concerns about anti-social behaviour and get safety advice from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service.
