A van has collided with a building in Newark town centre, say police.
Officers and colleagues from the other two emergency services are at the scene on Portland Street where the road divides Albert Street, by Asda.
The air ambulance landed minutes ago on the bowls green by Newark Library.
Sergeant Iain Blackstock, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers were called to Portland Street in Newark at 12.11pm today following reports of a vehicle crashing into a building.
“The road is currently closed to enable emergency services to deal with the incident.
“An air ambulance has been called and the incident is ongoing.
“Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find an alternative route.”
The building is said to be a residential one, believed to be flats.
