A pharmacist who took up running only 2½-months ago will tackle Worksop Half-marathon through Clumber Park on Sunday.

Vinni Sethi, branch manager at the Well Pharmacy, Sherwood Avenue, Newark, is running in support of the Stroke Association.

Her colleagues, who have taken turns to bake cakes that have been available to customers in return for donations, will be there to cheer her on.

“Everyone has been very supportive,” said Vinni. “Even if they have not wanted a cake many people have been donating.”

Vinni said she had taken up running to improve her fitness and had been training three times a week.

“I’m definitely going to keep running after Sunday,” she said.

Vinni said she had not set a target-time for the half-marathon.

“I am hoping the adrenalin is going to keep me going,” she said. “I just want to finish.”

The Stroke Association is Well Pharmacy’s charity for the year. The aim is to raise £250,000 nationally. Donations can be made in store.
