Newark Business Awards — Who will take this year’s honours and a place in the awards spotlight?

After the success of last year’s Newark Business Awards, the event is returning for 2020 — and we need your help to make this year even bigger and better.

The Advertiser, under its parent company Iliffe Media, is proud to again be organising the biggest event on the Newark business calendar.

The final will be a glittering black-tie ceremony at the Lady Eastwood Centre, Newark Showground.

It will take place on Friday, June 19.

The awards offer the perfect opportunity for businesses and organisations to showcase their work, network with others and, most importantly, celebrate their success.

Advertiser managing director Ricky Allan said: “We are delighted to once again be organising the Newark Business Awards, which offers a fantastic opportunity for local businesses.

“There is a lot to shout about in Newark, and this is our chance to publicly recognise that.

“Not only is it a chance for local businesses to celebrate their success, the awards are also a good way to put themselves in the spotlight — among their peers and the wider community.”

Nominations open today in ten categories:

  • Best Independent Retailer
  • Best Social Enterprise
  • Best Start-Up
  • Business Innovation
  • Businessperson of the Year
  • Customer Care
  • Employee/Team of the Year
  • Employer of the Year
  • Large Business of the Year
  • Small Business of the Year

Nominations can be made online at www.newarkbusinessawards.co.uk

Businesses can nominate themselves or be nominated by others.

Nominations close on Thursday, March 19, after which all entries will be independently judged by individuals from our sponsors or other relevant organisations.

Four finalists in each category will be revealed in the Advertiser on Thursday, April 9.

They will then be visited by the category judges and interviewed to decide the winners and highly-commended runners-up.

These will be revealed at the showground ceremony, which will be attended by around 400 people, which includes a three-course meal.
