Balderton WI back together again for face to face meetings after over a year

After 18 months of meeting via Zoom, Dorewood WI in Balderton, said it was wonderful to be meeting in person again.

Members and friends have so far visited Floral Media for the afternoon, having a tour around the gardens and a flower-arranging demonstration.

They have also had a social meeting with a ploughman’s supper, chatting and catching up with what they had been doing in the last 18 months, and they’ve had a display of rainbow projects and photographs of sunflowers members had grown from seeds they where given in Easter goody bags.

Several members knitted a total of 430 poppies for St Giles’ Church which were attached to netting hung from the tower.

The group has also had its birthday party; a meal was prepared by Balderton Methodist Chapel ladies, followed by entertainment from magician Paul Vickers assisted by members.

Guests were Wendy Richardson, vice-chairman and trustee Debbie Clark.
