A Facebook page has been set up in tribute to Cedella Williams, who was named locally as the woman found dead on Saturday evening on the southbound carriageway of the A1 near Fernwood.

The page, entitled 'In Memory of Cedella Williams,' has more than 1,600 'likes' on Facebook, and many people have posted tributes.

On the tribute page, Tina Watkin wrote: "RIP Della we had a great time at college together and you was a good friend to all of my girls.

"We are all heartbroken, we will never forgot you. God bless xxx."

Jodie Combes wrote: "I will never forget the fond memories of Della.

"She was one of the most fun people to be around, she was able to effortlessly make everyone else have a good time. RIP."

Georgina Wainwright wrote: "Literally the happiest person I can remember.

"Always smiling and always helping others out.

"The saddest news I have heard in a very long time.

"I only wish I had organised to see you again like we kept saying we would.

"The fact that I'll not see you again is shocking. I only saw you a few weeks ago in Asda... I wish you all the happiness up there."

Cedella was born in 1994 and attended the Newark Academy.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said the body was discovered at around 8pm on Saturday (December 14).

The spokesman said there are no suspicious circumstances and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
