Newark Athletics Club's men's team are sitting in bronze position ain the Notts AAA Summer Road Race League





Newark Athletics Club's men's team are sitting in bronze position after four of the five races in the Notts AAA Summer Road Race League.

The penultimate round was held at Hexgreave Park over a mixed terrain course where Newark had a few runners absent.

However, they still managed to put out a strong team with Ed Buck winning the race again while Conor Pacey was ninth.

Other placings were: George Hatton 11th, Will Tucker 20th, Steven Simms 28th, Dan Dunninton 33rd, Leigh Marshall 53rd, George Edwards 76th, Tim Bagguley 98th, Ady Dix 114th, Gareth Owens 132nd, Jason Ludlam 160th, Thomas Newbould 225th.

The ladies team are currently sitting in fourth place and Cloe Hubbard was first back for Newark in 11th spot.

Other placings were: Kim Etherington-Bates 59th, Tily Owens 141st and Carly Jackson 154th.

The final match took place last night (Wednesday) at Holme Pierrepont.

The club also had runners in the Bassingham Bash five mile race which was held in warm conditions on Saturday afternoon.

Ex Newark AC runner Linton Taylor, now representing Leeds City, won the event in 23.51 after beating Buck who came in second place in 24.07.

Other placings were: Conor Pacey 9th (25.55), George Hatton 10th (25.56), Will Tucker 18th (27.27), Rob Lindsay 20th (27.52), Dave Robinson 31st in 29.12, Adam Swallow 46th (30.18), Ady Dix 53rd (31.05).
