Patrick Bamford has been named the Championship's player of the year following a successful season at loan club Middlesbrough.

Bamford, who is on loan from Chelsea, received the accolade at an awards ceremony in London on Sunday night.

The 21-year-old, from Norwell, has been prolific this season, scoring 17 goals in 37 games.

He has also created 26 chances for his team-mates.

Bamford took to social media to express his delight.

He will be hoping to continue Middlesbrough's push for promotion as they travel to Fulham on Saturday.
