Ollerton, Southwell and Bingham turn out over action packed weekend of rugby
Area rugby continued to excite across the district and beyond throughout last weekend.
Ollerton 1sts got an away walkover against their opponents Worksop.
Ollerton 2nds played host to Newark 3rds and won 35-24 in a match that saw plenty of points scored.
The neighbours played with plenty of good sportsmanship and it was an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone watching.
Newark were winning at half-time but Ollerton managed to pull them back in the second to take the game.
Ollerton's tries came from Jake Mason, Shaun Cockayne, Lee Dentith, Richard Atkins, and Alex Cole who scored his first try for the club.
All five conversions were slotted by Prop Dylan Hume.
Man of the match went to Ollerton's Lock Damion Butler.
Newark were strong competitors for the side scoring four fine tries and two conversions.
Southwell had a mixed weekend with their 1st team winning 17-8 over Market Rasen while their other two teams trailed at the full-time whistle.
Southwell hosted a pre-game lunch before their 1sts defeated Market Rasen.
They then screened the Rugby World Cup Quarter-finals and hosted an Elvis tribute act.
The club's 2nds went down 38-15 against Keyworth 1sts and Keyworth again won the day when their 2nds defeated Southwell's 3rd team, The Bandits.
Bingham had another big win as their 1st side defeated Mansfield 61-17 on the road.
