The Tunde Jegede Ensemble will take the audience on a musical journey across the deserts in Ancient Futures at Southwell Library on Thursday, April 7, at 7pm and Orston Village Hall on Saturday, April 9, at 8pm.
The musicians bring traditional acoustic music from the desert nomads and Royal Court Music musicians of Mali, played on kora, the small udu drum and other instruments.
The concert follows a journey from the ancient to the contemporary, based on their recent album, There Was A Time.
Led by the composer and kora maestro, Tunde Jegede, the concert features the young singer and virtuoso instrumentalist Sona Maya Jobarteh.
