Bingham and District Choral Society prepare for golden jubilee concert at Southwell Minster

Bingham and District Choral Society will resume rehearsals at the beginning of September.

Its main focus for this term is working towards the Jubilee Last Night of the Proms Concert at Southwell Minster on Saturday, November 26.

It is the final concert marking the choir’s golden jubilee celebrations.

The performance also features Mansfield Choral Society and Nottingham Symphony Orchestra.

The society’s musical director, Guy Turner, is now on his fundraising walk from Lands’ End to John O’Groats, leaving the choir in the capable hands of Jonny Allsopp, assistant director of music at the minster.

Bingham Choral Society is always looking for new members to join them.

New members may take advantage of a free trial of three rehearsals before deciding whether or not to join.
