Irish crooner ready to belt out ballads
One of Ireland’s finest entertainers, Dominic Kirwan, returns to the Palace Theatre, Newark, with a new show. Live And Personal on Tuesday, July 24, at 7.30pm, gives Dominic a chance to talk about his life and career as well as perform a variety of music.
Dominic, who is known for his trademark show-stopping ballads, will perform country, pop and traditional Irish music, backed by his band.
There will be a chance to meet him and the band after the show for autographs and photographs.
He began Irish dancing in his home town of Omagh at the age of four, joining the Seamus Kerrigan School of Irish Dancing.
Not long after, one of his primary school teachers approached his mother after a singing competition and informed her that her son had a very good voice.
Over the next few years, Dominic competed in all manner of singing and dancing competitions throughout Ireland and further afield, giving him valuable experience for the career that lay ahead.
He became a member of The Melody Boys in 1979 and went solo in 1984, recording his first song, Alice Is In Wonderland.
He shot to fame in 1988 after winning two radio talent contests and has had many hits such as Noreen Bawn.
The Wheels On The Bus arrives at the Palace on Wednesday, July 25, at 2pm and is suitable for all the family.
Buster, the big red bus, will be joined by all his friends for magical adventures, full of classic sing-a-long fun.
There will be renditions of Coming Round The Mountain, Ten Green Bottles, Five Little Ducks, Apples And Bananas and Heads, Shoulders, Knees And Toes, and many more.
Tickets for both shows are available from the box office.
