Musical comedy to help a good cause

An evening of comic songs will help raise money for budding young musicians at The HopBarn, Southwell. They will be performed by local musician Guy Turner, accompanied by Ed Turner.

The Gas-man Cometh takes place a week on Saturday (February 3), at 7.30pm.

The concert will feature of Guy’s own compositions as well as a selection by the inimitable Flanders and Swann.

There will also be readings from humorous writers such as Jerome K Jerome, Terry Pratchett and Bill Bryson.

Pull up a chair and prepapre to discover gasmen, armadillos, pigeons, floods, pizzas, horns, hangovers, trains and pillar boxes.

Proceeds from the concert will go to the Awards For Young Musicians scheme.

Awards For Young Musicians helps exceptional young people who need financial and other forms of support to progress their musical talent and to develop their skills to their full potential.

It also helps music educators to spot, support and nurture musical talent in young people.
