Paying tribute to singing legend
Original film footage from the 1960s to the 1980s will accompany a concert paying tribute to Roy Orbison.
Barry Steele, whose wife Lynne used to live in Fleming Drive, Newark, when her parents ran The Turks Head, Balderton, will sing all The Big O’s hits.
He will be backed by a five-piece band when he takes to the stage at the Palace Theatre, Newark, a week today at 7.30pm, performing songs including Crying, Only The Lonely, Pretty Woman, You Got It and I Drove All Night.
Barry brings the life and character of Roy Orbison to centre stage, complete with his trademark soaring vocals and dark glasses.
There will be performances from special guests paying tribute to Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly and Jerry Lee Lewis.
