RHP Colts' bag packing a hit as £876 is raised to cover cost of playing at YMCA Newark and Sherwood Community and Activity Village




Members of a children’s football club have been raising money, writes Benjamin Lynch.

Young footballers of RHP Colts in Newark (pictured) raised £876 by packing shopping bags at the Morrisons branch in Newark.

Proud Colts coach Zak Edlin said the money would be helpful as the club look to cover the cost of playing at the YMCA Newark and Sherwood Community and Activity Village on Bowbridge Road.

Club members from the ages of four to 12 were involved.

Mr Edlin said he was pleased at the feedback he received regarding the attitude of the 46 boys who took part.

“People were telling us how talkative and polite they were,” he said.

“One young man was even a hit with the ladies.”
