Steampunk picnic held at Newark Castle to mark Queen's platinum jubilee




Steampunk took over the grounds of Newark Castle on Saturday for day three of the town's platinum jubilee celebrations.

A picnic took place in the castle grounds with activities and entertainment.

It included music by Captain Of The Lost Waves.

It was part of a four-day Newark Platinum Jubilee Celebration, organised by Newark Steampunk Society in conjunction with Newark Town Council.

It opened with steampunkers joining the jubilee beacon lighting in the Market Place on Thursday night.

On Friday, there was a steampunk and artisan market in the Market Place, with more than 120 stalls, where steampunkers mingled with shoppers.

On Friday night they held a platinum jubilee ball in Newark Town Hall.

They gathered in Newark town centre on Sunday.
