Flags saying thank you to the NHS are being posted on two Newark and Sherwood District Council sites
‘Thank you NHS’ is the message being posted from on high at two Newark and Sherwood District Council sites.
Flags with the iconic blue and white logo, representing the gratitude of communities throughout the district, are flying outside Castle House on Great North Road and at the council depot on Brunel Drive, Newark.
Council leader David Lloyd said: “These flags have been raised in tribute to the amazing work of our fabulous NHS and its fantastic staff who have put service above self.
“We are also grateful to those who work in the care sector, emergency services and all those key workers, including council colleagues, who have risen to the challenge and played their part in the response to this terrible disease.
“We can all show our gratitude for their efforts by staying at home, protecting the NHS and helping to save lives.”
Newark Castle, which is managed by the council, is being lit blue every Thursday night in tribute to the NHS and all key workers.
