Green transport charity RideWise appeals for donations




Green transport charity RideWise has launched a Christmas donation appeal to support its community projects next year.

It has launched an urgent plea for help – seeking donations to support their community projects during 2022.

This includes all abilities inclusive cycle sessions and the region’s largest free community bike library project, providing free bikes and support to people across the region.

Chief executive at RideWise Helen Hemstock said her aim is to raise £10,000 in their effort to provide community support through RideWise.

She said: “We’ve been so fortunate to have the support of our neighbourhoods. Each year we help thousands of people to walk and cycle safely around our neighbourhoods.

“We’re aiming to raise £10,000 to continue to provide support through our community cycle centres next year. Every penny really does make a massive difference.”

RideWise are a Nottingham-based charity who support people across the region who are living in transport poverty.

The environmental charity help reduce the impact of transport and do lots of work to support walking and cycling – keeping our air clean and reducing congestion.

Over the last year the charity has supported over 500 people through donated refurbished bicycles – including helping hundreds of keyworkers who struggled to get to their homes, workplaces and communities durin gcovid restrictions.

As well as hundreds of people through walking and cycling support and free bike repairs.
