Sherwood MP Mark Spencer held meeting to discuss roadworks on A614

Sherwood MP Mark Spencer has held a meeting to discuss the progress on the scheme to upgrade the A614.

Mr Spencer met with officers from Via, the county council, cabinet members Neil Clarke and Keith Girling, along with district councillors Scott Carlton and Rhona Holloway

The county council is currently going through Compulsory Purchase Orders on land it needs to obtain before work can start and deliver the improvements required, including the upgrades to Ollerton Roundabout and Mickledale Lane.

“Hopefully this will be done very soon, and the council can get to work as we have the funding in place from the government,” said Mr Spencer.

“I will be working with the council on a bid for more funding so we can also deliver improvements to the Deerdale Lane junction.

“I was delighted to secure the initial funding for the A614 upgrades as I know how important it is for Sherwood.”
