Nottinghamshire Police investigate assault in Lovers Lane, Newark

Police are investigating an assault in Lovers Lane, Newark, in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

A 40-year-old man was assaulted by three younger males and taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

They also took his mobile phone.

The three males are described as white and of average build. It is believed that one was wearing a grey hooded top and one was wearing red.

They are believed to have been in the Kings Road area before the assault and had possibly come from the town centre direction.

Officers are keen to speal to anyone who was in the area between 5.30am and 6am and who may have seen anything relating to this.
