Balderton woman at breaking point over carers who let themselves into her home — the wrong address

A woman is at breaking point because carers knock on her door day and night and if they don’t get an answer, they let themselves in — at the wrong address.

Kathleen Faulkner lives on Wolfit Avenue, Balderton, and the carers are looking for Wolfit Avenue Mews.

Kathleen’s problems began when people moved into the mews properties, which were built nearly five years ago.

Ever since, Kathleen has received unwanted callers at all times of the day or night who get the address wrong. Mainly, they are carers or the meals and wheels service.

Recently, two carers arrived at Kathleen’s to administer the covid vaccination, and even an ambulance got it wrong.

Kathleen, 57, who lives in a council bungalow she shares with her daughter, 19, and their dogs, said: “They turn up and try and use their key fobs for the door entry and when it doesn’t work, they try the door handle and, if it’s unlocked, in they come. It can be quite the shock.

“They never seem to send the same person twice, so it just keeps happening.

“One of them even let the German shepherds out. If it had been my old dog, he wouldn’t have taken kindly to someone just walking in.

“They just stand there expecting me to tell them where they should be and I’m sick of it.

“It’s not just the unwanted callers, I get wrongly delivered letters, including bank statements and parcels.

“I’ve contacted everyone I can think of to make it stop, but no one does anything.

“It’s really taken its toll on me on top of my cat being run over, having my old dog put down, and coronavirus.”

Kathleen said she felt like hanging a huge banner outside to replace the note she has placed on her post box that no one seems to see.

“It’s an invasion of my privacy and it’s taking over my life,” she said.

“I’m sick to death of it.”
