As the year comes to a close, we are looking back on the most viewed articles in 2019.
Thousands of articles were viewed on the Newark Advertiser's website in the last 12 months, collecting more than 4.5m page views.
From M&S to B&M, scrapyard blazes to council decisions, here are the most popular stories of 2019.
1) Widower: 'I'm being forced out of my council home after 26 years'
Surprisingly, the most read story in 2019 was published in November, when a widower claimed he had been forced out of his home by Newark and Sherwood Homes.
2) Huge blaze continues to burn in Newark scrapyard
A video captured the fire in April, which required the services of more than 40 firefighters.
It isn’t just a feud, it’s an M&S feud. This story was published less than two weeks ago, however, the interest in the future of the empty Stodman Street building among residents in the town is clear to see.
4) M&S set to comeback to Newark after u-turn
In September, Marks & Spencer looked set to be on the way back to Newark, in what was described as a game-changer.
It was suggested the chain had gone full circle having once again agreed to become the anchor of a proposed development on Maltings Retail Park.
5) Newark and Sherwood District Council election results in full
The elections were held on Thursday, May 2, and saw a 32.9% turnout (28,943 votes).
6) Huge blaze in Newark scrapyard
The story that broke the news of a huge blaze on the site of Briggs Metals Ltd, Great North Road.
7) Victim in hospital following Newark stabbing
A man was taken to hospital after a stabbing in Newark in the early hours of the morning in August.
The 32-year-old victim sustained stab wounds to his back, chest and both arms.
8) M&S to be replaced with discount store
Bargain Buys was confirmed as the retailer that would replace Marks and Spencer in Newark town centre.
The discount store, part of Poundstretcher, would have created 30 jobs at the Stodman Street premises, but later pulled out of the deal.
More than 8,500 readers voted in the poll after the traditional hunt spectacle was banned by Newark Town Council in September.
10) Collingham woman fined for 'stepping out of' B&M Newark carpark
A woman protested against a parking fine she said was given after stepping out of the B&M carpark on Victoria Street.
She said she was fined £60 by UKCPS after stepping on to the street to see if she could see her sister, who she was waiting for.
