The atmosphere in at least one of our pubs was said to be electric.
The beer garden at the Rose & Crown, Farndon, was full of emotion as the match pivoted between the two nations.
The pub, on Main Street, has had a large screen outdoors showing matches during England's Euro campaign.
Of last night, Valerie Lipton, from the pub, said: "The atmosphere was amazing but everyone was social distancing and respectful of the guidelines.
"Customers have been with us throughout the tournament and have been booking tables already for Sunday's final.
"It'll be an amazing atmosphere. There's so much hope and expectation – just what everyone needs right now."
