New Palace season — acts are pure magic
A host of celebrities have been booked to perform at the Palace Theatre, Newark, in a star-studded new season.
Comedians, musicians, magicians and poets are ready to take to the stage from September to January.
One of the highlights sees comedy duo Cannon and Ball team up with Nottingham’s Su Pollard for Ha Ha Hood! on October 18.
Billed as the funniest farce in the forest, Tommy, Bobby and Su will join the Ha Ha boys in this new take on Robin Hood.
The outlaw gets back together with Maid Marian ten years after a messy divorce to fight the Sheriff of Nottingham once more. They are joined by Little John and Friar Tuck, who are a little older but none the wiser.
One of the UK’s favourite magicians, Paul Daniels, and the lovely Debbie McGee return by popular demand on November 7.
The pair are taking to the road with a new show in which they will perform a selection of their favourite magic tricks and a few new ones never seen in public before.
One of the kings of country music, George Hamilton IV will join West End star Sandy Kelly to present the story of Patsy Cline on October 31.
The pair pay tribute to the music, life and times of the late singer.
Pyschic Sally Morgan returns to the Palace on November 10. The star of the hit TV show, Psychic Sally: On The Road, explores the spirit world in this interactive stage show.
Poetry fans can spend An Evening With Pam Ayres on November 17. Pam will present pieces from her new book, You Made Me Late Again, as well as old favourites.
Joan Armatrading goes solo for the first time in over 42 years of touring and is at the Palace on November 8. She will play a mix of old favourites and new compositions.
Comedian John Bishop will present Work In Progress on September 24, trying out new material before his autumn UK arena tours. The show sold out within 75 minutes.
Billy Mitchell and Ray Laidlaw star in The Lindisfarne Story on September 25, performing hits such as Fog On The Tyne and Meet Me On The Corner.
Motorcyle racing ace Steve Parrish will talk about his life and career on September 26, while Henry Blofeld and Peter Baxter reminisce over Memories Of Test Match Special on October 15.
The Houghton Weavers will play folk songs and tell jokes on October 2, while folk rock pioneers Steeleye Span mark 45 years in the music business. The show on October 9 is led by Maddy Prior.
Made In Chelsea and Celebrity Big Brother star Ollie Locke hosts a night for the ladies when Adonis presents Hollywood Strip on October 10.
Irish crooner Dominic Kirwan marks 25 years in showbusiness on November 6, performing some of his favourite songs.
Business manager Carys Coulton-Jones said: “This season brings a host of star-studded shows.
“As Christmas approaches we hope you are as excited as we are about The Pantomime Adventures Of Peter Pan.”
It stars Bernie Clifton and his faithful ostrich, Oswald. The panto is on from December 10 to January 3.
