Youth theatre's comical journey through Christmas at the Robin Hood Theatre, Averham, on Sunday

Young actors will take the audience on an hour’s comical journey through Christmas at the Robin Hood Theatre, Averham, on Sunday.

One More Sleep Till Christmas, at 3pm, is Robin Hood Youth Theatre’s end-of-year show.

The journey moves from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol through the Three Kings’ journey — on a camel and children’s letters for Santa — to Twas The Night Before Christmas parody.

It will feature festive songs and music, with even the leader, Kim Laughton being dragged in to perform alongside Zimowit Kaczmarek — and Santa has promised to join the fun.

Kim said: “Over the last two years, even during lockdown, I have had the privilege of working with these amazing young people, helping to build their confidence, from our face-to-face sessions and even the six months of Zoom meetings where we even had parents and pets Zoom bombing.

“To see each and everyone of them blossom is pure joy and I now leave them safe in the knowledge that I have played a small part in their lives as I personally start my own new journey with Butlins.”

Tickets for the show cost £5 (£3 under-18s) from www. rhtc.co.uk
